THE CARRINGTON HOUSE WEEKEND NOV'2013

Well what can I say ...... I hope you all agree, that we had a great weekend. All of the issues that were thrown at us by the hotel aside, the weekend came and went with a fantastic atmosphere!!  I am not going to type up any of those issues, as myself, Lynne and Louise were touched by the way you dealt with them .... screwed them up and tossed them to one side and got on with what you came there for, and that was to have fun and dance your socks off!!! ......... Hats off to you all.

The Friday evening social was great with just over 5 hours of solid dancing and finishing the evening off with the little party set!! (I just love doing those!!)

The Saturday morning workshop showed your dedication to dance as, after the 5 hours plus of dancing on friday night and not finishing until 1am, you still managed to get up, get your dance shoes on to learn the following dances:

Times To Come - Ria Vos

Sexy Lady - Craig Bennett

Hit The Road Jack - Alison Biggs

Fly High - Maggie G

Girl Power - Simon ward

SATURDAY EVENING (Stars in Their Eyes Theme) - After more of a successful meal time the night definitely started of with a bang, with you all arriving in the ballroom in your fancy dress outfits.  They were AMAZING!! So much effort went into these outfit's and they caused lots of laughs and wows!!!

CONGRATULATIONS to Gemma Haile (Katy Perry) who won the fancy dress competition. Followed very closely by Tracy Bishop and Rebecca Ives (Sony and Cher), Yvonne Wiltshire, Sue Skidmore, Liz Harper, Wendy Anderson and Jacky Portingale (The Pussy Cat Dolls) and Dawn Davies, Michelle Isbel and Carole Bowe (Bananarama).

Again a full night of dancing was had with lots of requests that were sent our way. (sorry for not be able to play all of them but believe you me there were a lot of them!!) Your night of dancing got interrupted with a Stars In Their Eyes Special cabaret performance, and following on from your comments after, I believe you enjoyed it!!!!!

We asked you all prior to Saturday night to hand in your ALL time favourite top 10 dance list to which at 10pm (well just after) we played. By doing this an amazing 168 dances came out from those lists BUT here is your favourite ALL time Top 10 for 2013:

1. Blurred Lines

2. Caribean Pearl

3. Knockin' on Wood

4. Wow Tokyo

5. No Mans Land

6. Hurt Me Carefully

7. Islands In The Stream

8. Voodoo Jive

9. Intrigue

10. Stop It

BIG congratulations to Pat Merret who won the free weekend place on our next weekend away at the Langstone Cliff Hotel.

Again the Saturday Night finished off with another little party set and of course The Beast!!!! I now know the last 8 counts!!!!

SUNDAY MORNING - We managed to squeeze a little bit more energy out and re-capped the dances taught on Saturday Morning, plus we learned Pasanda!!!

A BIG MASSIVE THANK YOU to all involved to help make the weekend a success ... you know who you are. X
