THE YEARS CHARITY SOCIAL .....

Friday 5th January saw this first Social of 2018 for Boogie Shoes. It was set up to raise awareness and dosh for this years chosen charity which was for The Alzheimer's Society.

The money raised on the evening alone was made up from door entry, donations, raffle (made up from your un-wanted Christmas Gifts) and "pay the DJ" (where you could pay to make sure your favourite dances got played!) plus a game of Irish Bingo. I am so chuffed & proud to say that we raised an AMAZING amount of ............ £1,146.25.

The raffle was made up of well over 100 prizes and we got through in 3 batches of "speed raffle" throughout the evening in between dancing to your requests.

It is not going to stop there though. I will be bring the collection tins to each class (just for the next week) to give dancers who couldn't make the evening an opportunity to bump up the fabulous total raised already.

Special shout out to Bobbie Ireland, Harvey Ireland & Johnny O'Connell for their help in getting you in, selling the raffle tickets and setting up, and to Jane Meredith & June Elliott for helping clear up and pack up!
Sandra Adams for hand knitting little Forget Me Not brooches, selling them and giving all the money from sales to the charity.
